Golf Carts and Facilities
Duties for outside operations would begin with the cleaning and presentation of golf carts for use each day, ensuring each one is supplied with towels, tees and scorecards. For facilities such as the driving range, I would set up each bag stand in an appropriate place and stock it with ample balls and tees, and arrange the range furniture accordingly.
-
Member Services
Beyond setup, responsibilities included being available to members for any queries, cleaning clubs during practice or after play, assisting with the maintenance or recovery of carts, picking the driving range and cleaning the balls. If requested, we would even go to a member’s house to assist them.
-
Events
For big events I would help to set up and arrange the staging area, as well as familiarise myself with the tee sheet and groups playing. I would guide players to the staging area and take care to ensure their carts were arranged correctly and safely, both before and after play.

Caddying
As a caddy, I have worked on behalf of one to four golfers at a time, including assisting those with physical disabilities. On occasion, I have driven the member’s cart so they can walk the course, though typically I would forecaddie and run ahead of the group to spot and ascertain yardages or reads for putts before they arrive to the ball.
